Éclat offers a bold and daring look at the intriguing and fascinating world of contemporary jewellery design through some of the field’s most prominent artists and emerging new talents. They present their latest designs while reflecting upon the meaning of their work, their use of techniques and materials, their life experiences and their sources of inspiration. The result is as extensive and international as it is intimate and personal. Rather than seeking to answer the difficult question of how to define contemporary jewellery, Éclat: Masters of New Jewellery Design explores the different perspectives on and possible boundaries of this art and, at the same time, provides a space for new questions to arise. More than five hundred colour photos of works selected by the artists, accompanied by their personal reflections and thoughts.
